Mea culpa....

I am still in shock concerning the ill fated Ethiopian flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi that crashed last Sunday shortly after take off. Air travel is currently considered the safest form of travel but accidents do happen! However two crashes within 6 months involving the same plane model raises questions (and eyebrows). My condolences to the families, friends and coworkers of all the deceased crew members and passengers! I cannot imagine what they are going through right now and having to bury empty coffins is simply heartbreaking. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. May the good Lord grant you comfort and may their souls through the mercy of God rest in peace! I have been reading about the crash extensively and while we cannot judge exactly what happened since the investigation is ongoing, i am appalled by the first reactions of Boeing, the FAA and the American carriers to this tragedy. They seemed nonchalant in stating that the Boeing 737 Max 8...

Is Feminism really pro-woman?

Let us take a moment to think about whether feminism especially the radicalized kind is truly about helping women! In our times feminism has risen with the supposed goal of uplifting women's status in society and ensuring that women's rights are protected. They are trying to put the value of women above the value of men and thus the scale of gender equality will not be balanced! I have been reading theology of the body by St. John Paul II and i must say it is a true eye opener! It makes us come to the realization that man was created,...

Where are you?

Today is ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Lent is meant to be a time of renewal, a time to return back to God! As the priest blesses your head, he says the words ""You are dust and to dust you shall return". Human beings need to be reminded of our own mortality as we often live our lives as if we were meant to be on the earth forever. We forget that our lives here are only a temporary journey to our final destination which is eternity. Our lives here will determine our state in eternity! On Monday, in the homily of one of the priests in my local church, he exhorted us to look deep into our inner selves and make an evaluation of our lives. He used the example of the late celebrity, Michael Jackson who died from an overdose of sleep medication. He was wealthy and surrounded by seemingly "adoring" fans but couldn't sleep. There are so many things we take for granted but how many people are struggling to find the joy in simple things? We spend most of...
