The things i cannot change!

In the serenity prayer , part of it goes, "give me the serenity to accept the things i CANNOT change". Last week i was reading about a WND whistle blower magazine  entitled "trans mania". I am not here to judge people as we all have things in our lives we wish we could change, sometimes we wish things could be different and sometimes there is a valid reason why we wish that.


That being said, there is always a line. A line we should never cross. We seem to have embraced a lifestyle that would rather we live in fantasy than reality. I love fantasy and it entertains me but lets leave fantasy in the movies and novels! I was reading about how some people are not just changing gender but apparently some people are trans disabled or trans blind and feel that they should have been born blind or disabled and thus seek out doctors to correct this.

Unbelievable! I was stunned and numb. We have accepted the horror of killing the unborn(abortion), sterile sex (contraception), redefined marriage and now this? What next human cloning?  What is wrong with us? Some things are best left alone, you are not God. We are definitely heading for our own destruction at this rate. Let us all learn to accept the things we cannot change,, have the courage to change the things we can and have the wisdom to know the difference. May God grant us that. Amen.

It is a beautiful thing to be in love but also a painful thing! So many misunderstandings can hurt you and sometimes it seems like you love someone more than they love you and it hurts grievously. However there is only one who understands and who chose to be a "prisoner of love" and that is Jesus Christ! We, Roman Catholics believe that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist. At the moment of consecration by the priest, the host becomes the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus. Jesus loves us so much that he never ever wants to be far from us, so before he died he instituted the Eucharist at the last supper.  I cannot even describe how much this love humbles me and makes me realize my own poor efforts at "love". His love is so beautiful and pure and it is truly everything a person could ever want or hope for! How many insults have we given him? How many times have we not visited him in the blessed sacrament and yet he is always there waiting for us!

Life is meant to be lived not understood

My mother said that to me in a conversation we had last week. It got me thinking about life and how we always look for explanations to life's mysteries and problems. But the truth is sometimes in life , there is no answer! I was watching one of the TV shows i love, (yes i love watching TV shows) and the dad was saying to his child that "one day you are going to grow up and realize that you don't have all the answers". Children usually have an innocence that reasons that there is an answer for everything but us we grow up we realize that life is not black and white. Life is complicated and sometimes there is no explanation. There are so many things that happen in life and we ask ourselves why? Why are some people born with horrible disabilities? why are some people insane? why do some parents abandon their children?  Why do some people die so young? why cant everybody find love? The message of Kibeho....Ndi Nyina wa jambo!

Last week i mentioned that i would be going on pilgrimage. I was in a little village in Rwanda called Kibeho. It is a remote place towards the border with Burundi on top of rather steep hills. For those who have not heard about Kibeho, it is the site of the appartions of the blessed virgin Mary since the early 80's. It is also now associated with the divine mercy devotion as well! To summarise a beautiful message, Our mother calls us to repent and have a true conversion of heart. There is so much hatred, selfishness and bitterness in this world. Too much of a spirit of unforgiveness! When she first appeared she showed them the visions of what would come to pass if people did not convert. (the genocide). Our mother truly loves us and does not want to see our destruction. Unfoirtunatley human beings are stubborn and what she had foretold did indeed come to pass.
